Now that you are working on your reputation and niche, let’s talk about actually starting a business.
First you will have to register your business with the secretary of state. This can be done online. You can hire an attorney to do this. It is not hard to do. I actually had an attorney friend set it up for me. I set my business up as an LLC and file taxes as an S-Corp.
I recommend doing this early, because it enables you open a business bank account. A separate bank account for your business will help you tremendous come tax time and to assess revenue and expenses. I recommend setting up your business bank account well before your open your clinic doors.
When I started, I had an Excel file with business expenses for way too long. Don’t do this to yourself. Set up your business and your business account early.
Also, start calling yourself a mother f**cking CEO on day one and put it on your email signature. It took me 2-3 years to do this. I had such bad imposter syndrome. Being a CEO is a lot of work, you’ll earn the title, trust me. So own it. The more you say it, the sooner you will believe it.
